Will this plate fit a Canon 5DMkIII?

    • Cynthia Iraheta

Your Canon 5DMklll will fit on our baseplate but it will not have the locking pins. The locking pins are just an extra security for your camera.
We have made some upgrades to our baseplate http://jag35.com/baseplate.html.

  • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

Not on this current revision of our DSLR Stand. It doesn’t include the Mark III pins, not sure why Canon insists on putting them on a different place in every single one of their camera models.

  • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

Yes, there is a Canon 60D pin location included in the DSLR Baseplate. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

  • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

I’ve never used your 12″ – 15mm carbon rods, but if they are industry standard 15mm rods, they should work just fine. Hope this helps.

  • BennyG

    Hey,

Just wondering how much this weighs? I bought a another rail system similar to this one and is quick heavy.

    Cheers
    Ben

    • Anonymous

      • Andrew Elliott1990

Great just sent you an email now.

Hi, the only way it would work is by using a Rod Raiser then you can mount the Z-Focus on the raise rods

  • khsargenius

    Hi there,

I use this base plate with both a 7D and a T2i – I’ve somehow managed to lose track of the little diagram with the pin configurations for different cameras, any chance you guys could email me a copy?

    cheers,

    Kim

Hi Kim! I’m more than happy to send this out to you, please email me at suppost@jag35.com

Hi! our DSLR Baseplate will work with any industry standard 15mm

  • Anonymous

The D|Focus V3 will work with any gears

  • Anonymous

Hi, if you want to adjust the height of your follow focus you can order the D|Riser

  • Anonymous

    they are 14.94 mm

  • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

You can definitely do it… but you are correct, it will raise the lens significantly and now the distance between the rods and the lens will be different. Mounting a Follow Focus unit, should still be possible, by using a rod Riser railblock (http://j35.us/rodriser)
However, a Mattebox is a different story, the Mattebox requires pretty exact measurements, so depending on which quick release plate you use, I’m pretty sure you’ll lose that distance.

We are definitely considering on a new DSLR Stand that will work with the T2i/T3i and Panasonic GH2

  • Synchromancer

Can I get this with 12″ rods instead of the 6″ rods? What would that cost?

    • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

yes you can, if you click on the add to cart button you’ll see the option for this, or you can just go here: j35.us/dslrbase

  • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

Yes and yes… the DSLR Baseplate, already includes a Tripod Plate, which is basically a flat surface which you can use to mount your tripods quick release plate.

You can attach any accessory arm or ballhead anywhere on the rods, using our Single Railblock (http://j35.us/singlerb)

  • Janyon

Really happy with quality for price. Only thing I would upgrade is to carbon rods as the ali ones are a little sticky being metal on metal. Love the products

    • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

Thanks, definitely considering Carbon Rods, hopefully real soon.

  • Ustguys

    Is it in stock?????

Is it possible to just buy the base minus the tripod plate and rods? I already have the full shoulder rig with cage. I do not want to use the cage anymore so I need the base plate. How much for the plate alone?

    • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

You can buy just the DSLR Stand from this page: http://j35.us/dslrstands

      Hope this helps.

I just watched the review of the straight rig on your facebook page. It mentioned that you guys might be working on a new baseplate with a more convenient mounting screw– is there any truth to this? if so when might it be coming out?

    • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

Will be available at NAB 2011, which is mid april.

Is is possible to buy the baseplate only? without the rods, and get a discount?

    • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

you can buy all the pieces separately, that’s for sure: you can get a DSLR Stand here: j35.us/dslrstand and you can get the Tripod Plate here: j35.us/tripod-plate

  • Jrh454s

I just got this and mine has the 3 holes for a pin to keep the camera from rotating, however all 3 holes have a pin screwed into them and it keeps the camera from sitting level when attached to the baseplate. What method would you suggest to removing 2 of the offending holes.

    • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

you should have received an allen wrench that fits into the pins, you can use that turn them until they are flush!

I have a Canon t2i with a 50mm f1.4 I just purchased the D|Focus and the gears. I’m looking to get this support rod system but I was wondering if there is anything that is essential to buy along with this.

    • http://misagarcia.com Misa Garcia

Not really, this is the missing piece to seamlessly mount your D|Focus to your Canon T2i Camera
